1st Inter Udalguri District School Athletics Meet held

In  a bid to tap the budding potential of school students in athletics the 1st Inter-Udalguri District School Atheletics Meet-2018 was organized here at Tangla Stadium ground in Udalguri district on Saturday. The event organized by Tangla Sports Association was witnessed widespread participation of nearly 300 athletes from 25 different schools of Udalguri district. The sports competitions included Running Race,Long Jump,High Jump,Javelin,Discuss,Shotput Throw,Rally among others  were held for both Boys and Girls categories. The opening ceremony was attended by former Panery MLA,Kumud Das; Bhergaon SDO(C),Dithakananda Hazarika; District Sports Officer,Bhupen Rabha; Working President of Tangla Sports Association ,Khargeswar Boro; Internationally acclaimed Kabaddi referree,Nomal Rabha,journalist,Shajid Khan among others.From this meet, athletes will be selected for the state level athletics meet informed event secretary,Mukunda Sarma Baruah. The dignitaries also distributed the athletes with medals and certificates.

All Koch Rajbonghshi Students Union (AKRSU) Bhergaon unit organized a two day long conference of its Women Association at Tangla which ended here on Friday.  The programme was inaugurated by Bireswsar Saikia. A fire gutted down at least 4 to 5 huts in Dimakuchi daily market on Tuesday afternoon. The fire broke out  from a lighted cigarete and quickly spread to the other houses in the neighbourhood. Fire fighters from Dimakuchi and Tangla were rushed to the market and they quickly doused the fire.There was no report of any casualty or injury.The exact loss of property and its value was yet to be ascertained, sources added.

A seminar on Interview Skills and Career Counselling aimed at equipping students with wider perspective of selecting one's career  was held at Tangla College today. The seminar was held under the aegis of IQAC cell of Tangla College. The four member counselling team from Kaziranga University was  headed by Pranjal Borborah. The office of the Chief Judicial Magistrate of the Udalguri district court has dismayed serious concern over the continued display of various government hoardings across the district violating the elections norms. An statement for the same was issued vide letter No. U (9) 759 dated March 8,2016 by Gitali Rabha,CJM Udalguri.
