Focus on Anukul philosophy
TANGLA: Nearly two thousand disciples of Thakur Anukulchandra from various parts of the state thronged Satsang Vihar in Tangla on Sunday to mark the 31st Foundation Day.
Apart from religious songs and prayers throughout the day, a discussion on Thakur’s philosophy and universal peace was also held on the occasion.
Retired Principal of V.B.P High School,Kopati, Pradip Malakar presided over the function flanked by Dr. N.C Mitra who delivered sermon on the ocassion.
“Satsang Vihar is a movement that promotes amity and tolerance among people, irrespective of their religious affiliations. Thakur's philosophy on the values of humanity is extremely relevant in today's world," Pradip Malakar said.
The Tangla Satsang Vihar was inaugurated by Acharya Dev Sri Sri Dada way back in March 1987.

The troops of the 37th Bn of Sashatra Seema Bal (SSB) Mangaldai stationed at Bongrum along the Indo-Bhutan border of Udalguri district seized a cache of smuggled timber wood during an operation carried on Tuesday. The SSB troops succeeded in apprehending one Jhon Daimary (23) in connection with the timber. The youth is a resident of Sangrapara village under Harisinga PS of the district. Dimakuchi area of Udalguri bordering Indo-Bhutan border is lagging behind in many spheres, one of them being proper healthcare. On Tuesday Pherengadao, a viluntary organsiation of Tangla organised a day-long free health camp on Tuesday. The Udalguri district which is infamous and in headlines in recent times for the highest casualties in Asia resulting in the Man-Elephant conflict has another wild jumbo separated from a herd which sustained injury and has been writhing in pain in a drain at Ganesh Ghat of Majuli Basti under Harisinga PS neigbouring the Indo-Bhutan area. A spate of suicides specially among youths in the last couple of days has sent shockwaves through the district. An alarming 8 cases of suicides during April 30 to May 13 reported in the district. The last two reports are one of 65 year old Bhubaneswar Deka of Teliapara village who allegedly committed suicide at about 2.30 am on Friday and other of a 2nd semester Political science student of Cotton College. Unidentified miscreants fired rounds of gun shots at the residence of lawyer Rajiv Khaglary at Maibanguri of Udalguri district. The incident occured on Thursday pre-dawn at about 2 am. Miscreants who came in motorbike fired rounds of gun shots with automatic guns and immediately fled away. Police went to the scene and found 7 empty cartridges of AK 47 rifle. No persons have been reported to be hurt in the incident. Police investigations are on. The lawyer who practices at Udalguri district court could not be reached over phone for further inputs.
