Focus on Anukul philosophy

TANGLA: Nearly two thousand disciples of Thakur Anukulchandra from various parts of the state thronged Satsang Vihar in Tangla on Sunday to mark the 31st Foundation Day.
 Apart from religious songs and prayers throughout the day, a discussion on Thakur’s philosophy and universal peace was also held on the occasion.

 Retired Principal of V.B.P High School,Kopati, Pradip Malakar presided over the function flanked by Dr. N.C Mitra who delivered sermon on the ocassion.

“Satsang Vihar is a movement that promotes amity and tolerance among people, irrespective of their religious affiliations. Thakur's philosophy on the values of humanity is extremely relevant in today's world," Pradip Malakar said.
The Tangla Satsang Vihar was inaugurated by Acharya Dev Sri Sri Dada way back in March 1987.

A wild elephant created havoc in Bamunjuli area of Udalguri district neighbouribg Indo-Bhutan border on Tuesday. The house of one Manju Deka was ransacked at about 3 am on Tuesday. Talking to Assam Times, Deka said "I and my daughter some how saved our lives.  Our houses have been ransacked and all our rice consumed by the elephant."  The poverty striken family is now looking for government's help.

The Kalaigaon local unit of All Bodo Students' Union have condemned the recent statement made by BPF candidate for 69 No. Kalaigaon LAC Maheswar Boro in a election campaign that President Diganta Boro and General Secretary Firoz Kanta Basumatari of the Kalaigaon local unit of the ABSU are supporters of BPF. Opposing BJP Vision Document stand to grant ST status to six communities of the state, Bhergaon District Tribal Sangha burnt copies of the BJP's vision document at Bhergaon on Tuesday. The Sangha also said that the decision  of the saffron party to grant ST status to six communities will greatly hamper the indigenous tribal communities of the state. The Sangha also alleged that the much anticipated 1000 crore special package to BTC would not benefit the tribal communities.
