Homage to Hazarika in Hojai

Samnavay Divas Udyapan Samittee on Sunday observed 6th Death anniversary of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika as "Samnavay Divas" at Bihutoli Mukuli Manch, Bihutoli,Hojai.

People from all the communities paid floral tribute to the maestro and earthen lamps were lit up infront of the portrait of the award winning maestro in the morning.

An Art Competition and Bhupendra Sangeet Competition were organised, where Children from different communities participated. Mahaprasad was distributed  among the people in noon.

Talking to Assam Times, Digen Kalita, a member of the committee said,"The maestro always united people of every caste,creed, religion."  

"He always transcended the barriers and tried to bind together every community with his Song."  He added

The prize were presented to the winners of different competitions in the evening

Two Minor Die in Flash Flood

Hojai:-Sensation Prevailed in Hojai District's Hayang Gaon on Wednesday when a  shocking  incident of death came to light.  As Per Information, Two minor girls died in a flash flood while playing  in a field near their house.  Reportedly, the two daughter's of Hayang Gaon Panchayat President Sushil Malik viz., Beauty Malik  (7 Year's old) and Purnima Malik  (3 Year's Old) died while playing  in a field due flash flood near their house. Sources said,this flood occurred due to the Incessant rain since last three days.    

World Environment Day Observed in Hojai

HOJAI:-Sarv Hindustani Parishad Assam State Committee  Observed World Environment Day  on Tuesday in Hojai. Boy jumps off running train

HOJAI: A sensational shocking incident of Jumping from a running train took place on Monday Evening at Hojai Railway Station. As per Railway Protection Force a Young boy identified as Barhanuddin (18 ) son of  Hassan Raja , Ward No 5 of Daboka in Hojai District jumped from running Train No. 15903 Dibrugarh Chandigarh Express at around 4:35 PM. The  severely injured boy was immediately admitted to a Private Hospital in Hojai.  Seeing his critical condition Doctors referred him to GNRC in Guwahati. Hojai: Sensation Prevailed  when a dead body found in  K R Chaudhaury Service Station (Petrol Pump) in Daboka's Madertuli area under Hojai district on Monday afternoon.The body is identified as Anil Baruah a Cook, resident of  Nagaon Town.
