Biker crushed to death in Tangla

A biker died when a speeding dumper rammed into the two wheeler on the Mangaldai-Bhutiachang road on Sunday. The accident took place near a petrol pump under Tangla police station in Udalguri where the deceased was identified as Jayman Kujur alias Ekka of Bamunjuli village in Dimakuchi. The pillion rider,Santius Kujur who sustained serious injury was rushed to Tangla CHC and referred to Mangaldai Civil Hospital for better treatment. Both the biker and the truck were moving in the opposite direction said police sources. It needs mention that hundreds of dumpers ply the road carrying stones and sand at high speed even in busy streets, police and forest officials hardly intervene them. The dumper in a bid to save the biker skidded off the road and fell into a nearby ditch . The driver and handyman escaped unhurt and fled the scene. The locals have strongly voiced that dumpers movement should be diverted to Mekenzi road instead of Mangaldai-Bhutiachang road.
