CM Sonowal emphasises of science and technology development

‘Science and Technology is the backbone of state’s development as well uplift in today's scientific era in the world’, said Chief Minister Sarbanada Sonowal.

Sonowal was speaking as chief guest on the concluding day of the Silver Jubilee celebration of the National Children Science Congress (NCSC), Assam chapter being held here on Saturday. Sonowal landed at SAI centre Helipad ground by a special Helicopter at 11.50 am in Kokrajhar.

He said that science and technology is the backbone in today's deveoping and scientific era. ‘No any work or job could be done without since and technology in the globalization world’, he said.

He said child scientisists of the state should come with dedicated and studious career to make state a developed state in the country.He has urged child scientists to create productivity projects to showcase their science and technology with sustaible innovations.

 He said state government was working for the all round development and welfare of the state.

Sonowal has been emphasized of peace,unity and prosperity in the state among all sections of communities. He said citizens of the state must prevail healthy thinking and suitable environnement to build up healthy human resource development in the state.

‘Peace and unity is the main source of development, so citizens should come forward to the integration. We must build good and united society to pave way integrated state’, Sonowal said.

While stressing establishment of medical college in Kokrajhar, Sonowal said that foundation stone would be laid to construct medical college within short span of days. He said that government has been initiating to revive Rupshi airport in BTAD. State government has been sent proposal to the centre to revive abandoned Rupshi airport.

He said that Kokrajhar will be upgraded into smart city in coming days as state and centre governments have been taking stern measures to make smart cities across the country.

He said that constructions of Kokrajhar planetarium would be completed shortly. Concern department has been asked to complete all kinds of construction works of planetarium in short days to pave way opening for the citizens, he said.

He also said that state government has been initiating to construct a length of 294 Kms long Indo-Bhutan four lane road communication in the region to gain healthy road communication.
He has lauded organizer and citizens of Kokrajhar for bringing successful event in Kokrajhar with grand conclusion.

BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary said that the child scientists are future generations of the country.He has urged participated child scientists to be dedicated and studious while taking higher career in their life.

Assam Forest Minister Pramila Rani Brahma,Kampa Borgoyary,BTC deputy chief, Ashok Singhal, MLA, were prominent attendees on the occasion.

The Silver Jubilee celebration was concluded on Saturday with four days programme scheduled. Over 300 child scientists participated from 33 districts of the state and presented 252 projects on various innovative project and subjects.

Altogether 26 projects are selected for the national event to be held in Ahmedabad beginning from December 25 next. In the state congress session, Rimjim Das of Nalbari and Tridiv Toppo Barphukan of Charaideo were adjusted as best child scientists in the state. Das was awarded Khagendra Nath Brahma state child scientist while Tridiv was Dr Aboni Chandra Goswami, state child scientists’ award.

Dr Ashini Kumar Baruah, founder of Assam state NCSC and pioneer of science congress,was felicitated with traditional Aronai and citation on the occasion. Dr AK Mishra, director of the Assam Science & Technology and Environment Council (ASTEC) appreciated reception committee for making smooth successful programmes of the state NCSC. He said that 252 projects were showcased in the session, in which 172 projects reached from rural and nearly 80 projects presented from urban area child scientists.

‘Participants from across the state presented beautiful and attractive projects highlighting suitable innovations of science and technologies in today’s scientific era. All presented projects were impressive and innovative’, Dr Mishra said.

KOKRAJHAR: Citizens in Lower Assam districts including  Bodoland Territorial Council  have expressed happiness and gladness having found resumed of internet services today after eight days blockade. The internet service was found resumed at 9 am that saw smilling and happiness environment amongst the citizens in the region. KOKRAJHAR: Police arrested five protesters in Kokrajhar on Wednesday who burnt effigies of chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in protest against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act 2019. Activists and members from All Assam Nath Yogi Students Union carried out a protest demonstration along the JD Road near District Computer centre in Kokrajhar against the CAB bill and burnt effigies of Sonowal and Sarma. The protestors staged protest demonstration with shouting slogans demanding early withdrawal of the bill. The protestors violated CrPC 144 clamp in the district", said a senior police officer.

KOKRAJHAR: Normal life was paralised  in four districts of Bodoland Territorial Area Districts (BTAD) region on Tuesday due to 11-hour north east bandh called to put protest against the controversial Citizenship (Amendment) Bill which was tabled in Lok Sabha on Monday amidst strong oppossed from different corner. KOKRAJHAR: The ruling partner in the state alliance government, the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) has said that the their party is going to participate in the ensuing 2020 BTC general elections. KOKRAJHAR: Noted social activist, former leader of All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) and close associate of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma Yamao Jwhwlao Brahma passed away on Wednesday night at a private hospital in Guwahati. A day-long workshop on journalism was held at Bodofa House, Baganshali in Kokrajhar on Wednesday. KOKRAJHAR: Goreswar Town Football Club of Baksa beat Udalguri's Bhergaon Football Club 4-0 goals to lift the trophy in the final match of the BTAD-Army football premier league-2019 held at Kokrajhar Govt HS & MP School playground, Kokrajhar on Sunday.
