The Northeast Chapter of Cardiological Society of India and Guwahati Press Club have jointly organized a health check up programme for the journalists on September 28 on the occasion of World Heart Day. The programme will begin at 10 am on the press club premises, where a team of senior cardiologists will examine the media persons' health and also counsel them about the risk factors of various heart diseases. The ECG and blood sugar examination will also be carried out during the camp.
It may be mentioned that the World Heart Day is observed all over the world on the last Sunday of September every year. On this day physicians and cardiologists try their best to create awareness, among people of different walks of life, about various risk factors that lead to Coronary heart disease. This year the theme for the World Heart Day is 'Know Your Risk'.
