Bengali body demands CBI probe

The All India Bengali Youth Student's Federation (AIBYSF) and All Assam Bengali Youth Student's Federation (BBYSF) will stage sit-in-demonstration on September 7 at Dispur last gate in Guwahati demanding CBI probe into the Silapothar and Nagaon incident.

Speaking the News Conference held at Amala Bhawan in Kokrajhar on Sunday, Shyamal Sarkar, president of All India Bengali Youth Student's Federation and Deepak Dey, president of the Assam state federation demanded stern actions against incidents of Silapothar and Nagaon in the state.

The federation have condemned the Nagaon incident which had created resented among the citizens, said that it was created by some so called activities to indulge misunderstanding in the state. They accused of Chief Minister, who had well known about both incidents held at Silapothar and Nagaon, but yet he has been keeping silence into situations.

An awareness meeting on local fishery was organized at Kajalgaon bazaar and Sialmari on Thursday with Jibeswar Mushahary in the chair. It was organized by Chirang District Fishery Development Officer under Assam Fishery Act to bring awareness about rearing of locally found fishes in the region instead of Thailand magur fish. Forest department official seized 26 pieces of Sal timber logs along the Gongia River at Balanga bazaar, which were illegally brought by smugglers today morning under Dotma PS in Kokrajhar district. According to sources, the timbers were rescued following forest department official and local publics jointly initiated step against smuggling under the direction of Forest Minister Pramila Rani Brahma late last night and seized this morning. The market value of the seized timbers would be over 2 lakhs. The timbers were brought through Gongia River by smugglers from Kachugaon forest division, said a senior forest official.
A dead body was recovered inside of a room from South Choraikola village on mysterious condition under Kokrajhar PS on Wednesday in Kokrajhar district.Body was notice after smelling of body come out from the room. The body was saw mark of burnt and suspected that the incident was occurred few days back. Body was identified as Malati Roy, 50-years-old and her husband is absconding. One after another case of electrocution seem to have struck shock and anger in BTAD areas these days where several people have lost their lives during the last couple of months. The recent one incident took place on Sunday where a minor boy died and seven others sustained serious injury in Chirang district. The incident that sent shock in the entire area took place at Pakriguri village near Basugaon. According to information, the incident took place in the afternoon when a 33,000 voltage electric wire fell at a pond as a group of children swimming there. BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary inaugurated the newly constructed Dhamma Dipa School, a school of universal teaching at Bamungaon on Sunday in Kokrajhar district.
