Bengali body demands CBI probe

The All India Bengali Youth Student's Federation (AIBYSF) and All Assam Bengali Youth Student's Federation (BBYSF) will stage sit-in-demonstration on September 7 at Dispur last gate in Guwahati demanding CBI probe into the Silapothar and Nagaon incident.

Speaking the News Conference held at Amala Bhawan in Kokrajhar on Sunday, Shyamal Sarkar, president of All India Bengali Youth Student's Federation and Deepak Dey, president of the Assam state federation demanded stern actions against incidents of Silapothar and Nagaon in the state.

The federation have condemned the Nagaon incident which had created resented among the citizens, said that it was created by some so called activities to indulge misunderstanding in the state. They accused of Chief Minister, who had well known about both incidents held at Silapothar and Nagaon, but yet he has been keeping silence into situations.

The 26th foundation day of All Koch Rajbongshi Students’ Union (AKRSU) begins from today at Kalipukhuri with two day scheduled programme in Kokrajhar district.  On the first day today, AKRSU president Hiteswar Barman hoisted organisational flag, followed by floral tributes to the martyrs by AKRSU secretary Trilokya Roy. The carcase of a female rhino was recovered from near Abwidhora camp under Bhuyapara range of the Park this morning. Accodring to Park oficial, the rhino was found dead this morning. Preliminary investigation suggest, the rhino died due to lack of food. The female rhino named 'Mainao is stated to be ailing since the last few days.  Mainao is the first rhino to be rehabilitated back in the Manas National Park in 2006 from Kaziranga. A six year old girl child died after drowning in the flood water at New Banglajhora in Kokrajhar district today.According to information, the child identify as Purnima Narzary, 6, of New Banglajhora relief camp slipped in the flood water and drowned.Her body was later recovered.The district administration has provided Rs 25,000 as part of the compensation.The rest amount of Rs 4 lakhs will be provided later, a senior official of district administration said.District administration has been providing relief materials in smooth manner besides extending medical facilities for the flood affected peoples in the district, he added.
