Bengali body demands CBI probe
The All India Bengali Youth Student's Federation (AIBYSF) and All Assam Bengali Youth Student's Federation (BBYSF) will stage sit-in-demonstration on September 7 at Dispur last gate in Guwahati demanding CBI probe into the Silapothar and Nagaon incident.
Speaking the News Conference held at Amala Bhawan in Kokrajhar on Sunday, Shyamal Sarkar, president of All India Bengali Youth Student's Federation and Deepak Dey, president of the Assam state federation demanded stern actions against incidents of Silapothar and Nagaon in the state.
The federation have condemned the Nagaon incident which had created resented among the citizens, said that it was created by some so called activities to indulge misunderstanding in the state. They accused of Chief Minister, who had well known about both incidents held at Silapothar and Nagaon, but yet he has been keeping silence into situations.

Assam Legislative Assembly Speaker Ranjit Kumar Das, Forest Minister Pramila Rani Brahma visited flood affected areas of Baksa and Dhubri districts of lower Assam on Thursday. A six year old girl child died after drowning in the flood water at New Banglajhora in Kokrajhar district today.According to information, the child identify as Purnima Narzary, 6, of New Banglajhora relief camp slipped in the flood water and drowned.Her body was later recovered.The district administration has provided Rs 25,000 as part of the compensation.The rest amount of Rs 4 lakhs will be provided later, a senior official of district administration said.District administration has been providing relief materials in smooth manner besides extending medical facilities for the flood affected peoples in the district, he added.

Two persons were apprehended for involved with poaching under Bhuyanpara forest range in Manash National Park in Baksa on Tuesday. According to forest official, a joint team of forest staff from Bhuyanpara range and Salbari police conducted a search operation in Rupohi area where two poachers were arrested along with a piece of ivory. Red Horn Division of Army organizes a medical camp for flood affected areas in Kokrajhar district on Monday. Over 200 citizens from flood affected areas were given away free medicine as well health check up by army doctor and civil hospitals in the district. Several villages were severely affected in the flood waters since few days in the district due to incessant rain.
