LR Bishnoi, ADGP, Assam claimed that top leaders of the NDFB(S) have been facing financial crisis in their maintaining camp and activities carried since few months.
Bishnoi while speaking the reporters in Kokrajhar on Monday said, ‘High alert has been sounded in Lower Assam districts, including the four district of BTAD following reports that Islamic fundamentalist groups from the neighbouring Bangladesh were planning a major strike in the state’.He said that since the busting of an extremist training camp at Daukhanagar of Chirang district in September last, 35 persons were arrested. Three more on the list are still on run and they would be arrested at the earliest,he added.
Of the 35 arrested, 25 have got bail and are being kept under close watch. Jahidul Islam who was instrumental in setting up of jehadi training camp at Daukhanagar under Dhaligaon police station in Chirang district was actually a Bangladesh nationality,Bishnoi said.
He has appealed all citizens of the region to inform for police about whenever seeing any doubt person or substance in the area.
‘Stern measures have been initiated to check unwanted incident as well situation in the region along putting strong security vigil’,Bishnoi said.
It is to be mentioned that a general alert has been sounded across the state after intelligence report of Islamic fundamentalist groups were planning a major strike in the. All superintendents of police have been instructed to intensify patrolling in vulnerable areas and gathering of intelligence.
