Simmering protest erupts in Namrup on Monday over the Nagaon incident where a tractor dealer of doubtful integrity along with his associates assaulted a group of former rebels ad they were raising fund to feed the flood hit.
Led by former ULFA Coordination Committee, many local organizations took out a huge torch rally warning the anti Assamese lobby and people of dire consequences if they in any form ate found to be involved in it.
Namrup local AASU leaders and workers and their AJYCP counterparts joined thr rally which ended at the Namrup Sonari Tiniali with a public meeting. Namrup: A pioneer of the Assam Movement and founder of Assam Yuba Chatra Parishad Namrup Regional Committee, Nagen Bora breathed his last at his own residence here in Namrup on Sunday due to old age ailments. He was 82 and left behind his wife, two son and three daughters.
