A seminar on the subject "Job Opportunities in the Middle East" has been organized in Guwahati on August 28. The organizers of the seminar are Friends of Assam and Seven Sisters (FASS) and the Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC), Cotton College. Both FASS and EDC have been working extensively towards the improvement of the society in various ways. FASS and EDC, both organizes many workshop, seminars on various important subjects to enhance the standard of the society, especially the youth of the society.
During the seminar, a presentation has been made Mr. Bikram M. Baruah who is a resident of Abu Dhabi and a Director of FASS. During his presentation, he focused on the countries like UAE, OMAN, QATAR, BAHRAIN, SAUDI ARABIA, KUWAIT.
During the interactive session they informed this seminar largely to make awareness among the youth regarding the job opportunities in the Middle East. So, this type of the seminar will surely help the youth.

Two suspected Muslim United Liberation Tigers of Assam (MULTA) has been arrested by the 43 Assam Rifles in a combing operation from the Koliabhumura area in Tezpur on 29-07-08 evening. In tragic incident, three wild elephants have been found dead inside the Sengelijan Elephant Reserve Forest under Gohpur Sub-division near Sirajukli Karbi Village on 27th July morning. An electricity post was damaged due to the excavation work going on for construction of the widening process of the proposed four lane road in front of the Khetri Police Station, near Guwahati today. The resulted short-circuit in the electrical post damaged many electronics goods of that area used in the households. Following this, hundreds of angry people gheraowd the Khetri Police Station.They damaged the excavator used in the construction site. In a crucial turn around, Top United Liberation Front of Assam leader Prabal Neog alias Benudhar Bora has been released from the Dibrugarh Central Jail this afternoon. At the time of release UFA Leaders, Jiten Dutta, Joon Bhuyan and Junaki Bora - mother of Prabal Neog accompanied him. Assam's first photo-journalist and cine director Amulya Manna passed away at Nagaon on 19-01-08 at the age of 80. He left behind his wife, one daughter and three sons.Besides being involved in the production of several cinemas in Assam, he directed 'Marishika', 'Pathar Aru Jiban' and documentaries, 'Sadiya Radha' and 'Flowers of Assam'.
