Cine director Amullya Manna passed away

Assam's first photo-journalist and cine director Amulya Manna passed away at Nagaon on 19-01-08 at the age of 80. He left behind his wife, one daughter and three sons.

Besides being involved in the production of several cinemas in Assam, he directed 'Marishika', 'Pathar Aru Jiban' and documentaries, 'Sadiya Radha' and 'Flowers of Assam'. Manna was honoured by the Royal Photography Society, London in 1957 and also by the Indian International Council of Photography later.
