New Tangkhul film to release on April 12

Once again, director Riyo Varam is all on hand to bring the laboured works of Meiphung Production closer to the hearts of Ukhrul cine-lovers than ever before. Accordingly, MP team is gearing to roll out its second annual 'Haolywood' red carpet extravaganza on the occasion of its upcoming screening of MP's latest release 'Thotkha Mirin Khani' which is scheduled for April 12 next at Ukhrul Town hall.

Finally, viewers in Ukhrul township will be able to watch the much awaited movie a few weeks after it was ceremonially premiered at the national capital of New Delhi on March 14 last and subsequently shown in four different Indian metro cities like Mumbai, Goa, Pune and Bangaluru respectively.

The film, starring Khavangpam Mahung and Timmi Lunghar (of 'Kha Yurna Mataimei' fame)in the lead along with, Ngachanpam Ngashangva, Wunglengsing Longleng, Chonchon Varah and Kanring Vashum, is a thoughful reminder for all mankind that no matter what you decide for your life, God is the 'ultimate master' of your destiny.

The storyline written by Khavangpam Mahung tactfully relates two diametrically different lives on the basis of vagaries and interchangeability of situations in life, where God predestines nothing to be permanent be it riches or poverty, fame, power or frailty etc.

"If our debut KYM was a box office success, I feel this time around we have raised the standard/quality of filmmaking a notch higher with TMK in terms of technology, plot, and artists' performance," a jubilant Riyo Varam told The People's Chronicle.

While all our cast and crew members have put in much better performances this time, a sizeable credit for technical enhancement goes to our editor cum videographer Pamshim Rungsung, he noted adding that: "We believe we are definitely on the upswing."

Stating that the kind of public response that was seen during the film's serial shows in metro cities is heartwarming, Varam poured out his deep gratitude to all the well wishers and voluntary organizations on behalf of Meiphung Production.

Evidently spurred by the overwhelming public response so far and on public demand, Varam who is also film project director of the production, informed that they are  also planning to show the film at Imphal, Dimapur, Guwahati and Shillong, followed by similar screening of the film at Somdal and Phungyar villages of the district respectively within the current month.

Ukhrul ADC chairman Dr Yaronsho Ngalung will attend the upcoming red carpet event as special guest, while Miss Manipur 2016 Phapha Gajui will make a special appearance and Ningzing Shimray will be special performer of the gala event.

As part of the screening extravaganza, a special interactive programme with cast and crew members of the film will be taken up, he further informed adding a special award will also be given to the first director of Tangkhul filmmaking.

Informing that all Tangkhul film producers and directors are invited to the event, he also appealed to all the public to extend their valuable support and cooperation.
