No respite for Akhil Gogoi

GUWAHATI:There seems to be no respite for Akhil who has been languishing in the Dibrugarh Central Jail since he was arrested under the National Security Act.

The NSA Advisory Council on Saturday has confirmed his penalty under this Act which would make him bound to be in the jail for a period of one year. The advisory committee headed by Governor Jagdish Mukhi confirmed it two days ahead of the huge countrywide stir demanding immediate and unconditional release of the peasent leader who was held for urging the people to remain prepared for an armed struggle if need be.
