The Tangkhul Naga people residing in Delhi have blamed it all on the Ibobi Singh government in Manipur for the ongoing orgy of violence in Manipur where economic blockade and counter blockade have paralyzed normal life in the poll bound state.
In a statement issued in the national Capital on Thursday, the organization accused the government if trying to suppress the unique Naga culture and identity in the state. According to them, the Congress government in Imphal has deliberately violated the vital clauses of the pacts signed earlier.
They maintained that creation of seven New districts without prior consent of the stakeholders was itself a blatant violation of the pacts.
Condemning the orgy of violence during the blockade, the Tangkhul Naga body in the capital accused the government of managing the counter blockade where the buses were set on fire and the passengers were robbed in broad day light.
They further alleged that many Naga students were detained on the way to the examination in the plains areas where the civilians were not spared and churched were burnt down.
They demanded immediate revocation of the order creating seven New districts apart from the Centre’s intervention to respect the peace framework apart from early release of the UNC leaders.
