ABSU felicitated meritorious students in Kokrajhar

A total of 11 merits student, who secured top ten position from among Bodo medium institutions, from Kokrajhar district in the HSLC, 2016 were felicitated by All Bodo Students Union (ABSU), Kokrajhar district committee at a ceremonial function held at Bodofa House on Sunday in Kokrajhar district.

The sudents union has been every year felicitating meritorious students of Bodo medium across the state to bring encouragement among students.The students union declaring 2006 year as education year has been working for the creation of quality education and since then the numbers first division in the state increase and this year(2016) a total of 1174 students passed in first division all over the state. Each of student was given way a citation, Bodo traditional Aronai along with a dictionary. Kokrajhar Deputy Commisioner Madhav Prasad Sarma, ABSU vice-president Romeo P Narzary, Director of UN Academy,Kokrajhar Krishna Gopal Basumatary graced as guests with Premjit Narzary,president of Kokrajhar district committee ABSU in the chair.

Madhav Prasad Sarma,DC Kokrajhar said, “It is a great pleasure function organised by ABSU to felicitate HSLC passed students belonging to Bodo medium in the Kokrajhar district.Students, who were passed their education in mother tongue are very respected and they can earn their higher studies through hard dedication in coming days”. Romeo P Narzary,vice-president ABSU,Nion Mushahary,secretary,ABSU Kokrajhar district committee said that we are coming out with bringing of quality education mission to create educational atmosphere among generation.The students union declared 2006 as education year and since then we were working for the educational activities among society through which student community get educational encourgaement in the state.

KOKRAJHAR: Citizens in Lower Assam districts including  Bodoland Territorial Council  have expressed happiness and gladness having found resumed of internet services today after eight days blockade. The internet service was found resumed at 9 am that saw smilling and happiness environment amongst the citizens in the region. Earlier, BTC region was made exempted from the disruption of net services from state government on December 10. KOKRAJHAR: Police arrested five protesters in Kokrajhar on Wednesday who burnt effigies of chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in protest against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act 2019. Activists and members from All Assam Nath Yogi Students Union carried out a protest demonstration along the JD Road near District Computer centre in Kokrajhar against the CAB bill and burnt effigies of Sonowal and Sarma. The protestors staged protest demonstration with shouting slogans demanding early withdrawal of the bill. The protestors violated CrPC 144 clamp in the district", said a senior police officer.

KOKRAJHAR: Normal life was paralised  in four districts of Bodoland Territorial Area Districts (BTAD) region on Tuesday due to 11-hour north east bandh called to put protest against the controversial Citizenship (Amendment) Bill which was tabled in Lok Sabha on Monday amidst strong oppossed from different corner. KOKRAJHAR: The ruling partner in the state alliance government, the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) has said that the their party is going to participate in the ensuing 2020 BTC general elections. Speaking the reporters at Kokrajhar Press Club on Sunday, AGP leader Subir Chakraborty told that his party was fully prepared to contest the council elections due in March-April 2020 under the alliance spirits of BJP-BPF-AGP in the state. KOKRAJHAR: Noted social activist, former leader of All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) and close associate of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma Yamao Jwhwlao Brahma passed away on Wednesday night at a private hospital in Guwahati. Brahma was admitted at the hospital few months back following some illness. He left a son and daughter and his wife. A day-long workshop on journalism was held at Bodofa House, Baganshali in Kokrajhar on Wednesday. Young journalists from different six districts of the state- Sonitpur, Dhemaji, Udalguri, Baksa, Chirang and Kokrajhar participated the workshop. KOKRAJHAR: Goreswar Town Football Club of Baksa beat Udalguri's Bhergaon Football Club 4-0 goals to lift the trophy in the final match of the BTAD-Army football premier league-2019 held at Kokrajhar Govt HS & MP School playground, Kokrajhar on Sunday.
