RMC on crack over party supports

Cracks appeared in the Religious Minority Council(RMC),BTC region over the issue of supporting to the Bodoland Peoples Front(BPF) party in the ensuing Assam assembly election.The rift appeared in the council after president Sohrab Khan announced openly that RMC leaves to support the BPF party in the election.

Speaking the reporters on Friday at Kokrajhar Press Club,Rijaul Haque Sarkar,general secretary of the RMC told that the council has not been left the BPF party.We are still with BPF party,who was working all round development and welfare of the region.The reaction come after the Khan addressed the reporters at Kajalgaon in Chirang district on Thursday that RMC announced to leave the ruling party ahead assembly election. Sarkar has denied the statement of Sohrab said that it was his personal view, not of council decision to leave the ruling party in the region.

‘We have no any decision to leave the ruling BPF party at this juncture’,Sarkar adding said that the council still good term with the party and no any decision to step against ruling party. He has accused of that Khan has been maintaining link with Congress to gain his personal benefit that is why he is stating baseless remarks over the RMC in the region.

He has claimed that the RMC has not cracked within organisation,but Khan he hilself making baseless statement to show his personal interest. He also told that the RMC has been scheduled to hold central executive meeting on March 13 at Magurmari in Kokrajhar district and committee would discuss thoroughly over the present situation within organisation. Delegates from ten district committees are participating in the meeting and would discuss on the arisen situation within organisation.The council is likely replace president Khan for his unwanted remarks over supporting political party in the upcoming election.

Security forces claimed to have killed 3 suspected cadres of NDFB-S militants during the combing operation from Sankosh area in Gossaigaon subdivision of Kokrajhar district on Monday.According to police, identified as Rodip Narzary, Bennedict Basumatary and Rahidas Narzary were apprehended when they were on the way towards West Bengal from Jambuguri area in Gossaigaon in a Nano vehicle bearing registration no AS-01 MB 3661. A section local residents in Gossaigaon mercilessly killed a full grown leopard after one person sustained injury in its attack on Monday.The incident took place at Jingribil area under Bauraguri police station in Gossaigaon subdivision of Kokrajhar district on Monday where the animal which came out of the Ripu-chirang reserve forest under Kachgaon forest division on Sunday in search of home sneaked into human habitat on Monday.Identified as Jwngsar Brahma, the 18 year old youth was injured in the attack in the morning. The security forces on Sunday claimed to have recovered 8 bikes used by NDFB-S rebels in the Korkajhar carnage on Tuesday.  The bikes and a vehicle were recovered from Kousi Bazar in Karigaon area in the morning. According to police, these include 7 Pulsar and one CVR bike along with an Indica car which were recovered during the ongoing joint search operation in the dense jungle area of Ripu reserve forest.

A group of ministers visited the relief camps in Kokrajhar district during their stock taking visit on Sunday. Security forces are going all out against NDFB-S n Kokrajahr and Chirang districts five days after the militant outfit killed at least 70 people in Kokrajahr and Sonitpur districts.Police officials told Assam Times that 36 additional forces have arrived in the state. Fifteen companies have been deployed in Kokrajhar,9 in Chirang and 6 companies each in Baksa and Udalguri districts.All the extra companies have been deployed in the operation against NDFB(S) which is being intensified in Ripu Reserve forest, Chirang Reserve and Kachugaon Reserve forest.  
The NDFB-S carnage brews blamegame between BPF and BPPF. BPPF president Rabiram Narzary lambasted Hagrama Mohilary on Saturday a day after the BPF boss accused ABSU and BPPF of instigating the killers in Kokrajhar and Sonitpur districts.Narzary told reporters in Kokrajhar that Mohilary has lost his mass base which was why, he starts making immature statement. The Kokrajhar district administration steps up measures to ensure safety and security to the people after the carnage of Adivasi peoples by NDFB (Songbijit). There is no report of any fresh incident during the last 12 hours. Lower Assam Commissioner Shantanu Thakur visited Kokrajhar on Friday and met senior police and civil officials to review the situation. He said that 50 companies of security forces were deployed in the districts and that of them 18 companies have already reached Kokrajhar. According to him, measures are on to restore peace and normalcy in Udalguri, Kokrajhar and Chirang districts.
