Mass signature campaign against Citizenship Bill

Udalguri AGP conducted mass signature campaign against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2016, in Tangla on Sunday. The Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2016 seeks to grant Indian citizenship to illegal migrants who are Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis and Christians, who came from Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan to the country till December 31, 2014.

“The proposed Bill will exterminate the indigenous ST, SC and other ethnic communities of Assam and reduce the indigenous people of the State into minorities,” said President of Udalguri, AGP Jatin Kumar Deka.
