NDFB-S rebel arrested

One NDFB-S militant identified as Majendra Narzary (41) was apprehanded from Khasiabari under Kokrajhar police station in the district today by a joint team of army and police . One postol along with one live round was recovered from him.

Inquiry into question paper leaked

The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council(AHSEC) has started its inquiry into ‘Physics’ Question Paper leakage at Grahampur HS school involving two senior officers of the council in Kokrajhar. NDFB(S) link men arrested

Police in its operational initiative able to apprehend three link men of the National Democratic Front of Boroland(Songbijit faction) militant outfit from Harjhora area under Bagribari PS in Kokrajhar district today. Shyamal Prasad Saikia, Kokrajhar Superintendent of Police (SP) told that police managed to arrest the persons, who have been demanding money, extortion from common publics in the area. Six arrested with arms

13 fishermen arrested

As many as 13 fishermen were arrested by Bhutan Royal Army on Tuesday inside deep jungle of Sarpang district of Bhutan while going illegally into the neighboring country. According to a senior police officer in Kokrajhar, thirteen persons from Kachugaon area of Gossaigaon subdivision illegally entered seven kilometers into Bhutan territory to fishing inside deep jungle where they were caught by Bhutan Royal Army on Tuesday and then handed over them to Kokrajhar police.
