Boost for tribal bonhomie

Two premier tribes in  Arunachal Pradesh are gearing up for a historical showdown. Come September 20. The Nyishis from Lower Subansiri will strike a historic deal with the Apatanis to bridge the troublesome trust deficits within the two communities at Ziro.

The glittering function that would witness the historic event is expected to  address issues of common interest to realize the necessity of maintaining peaceful co-existence, mutual trust and confidence for the posterity of both the communities.

The summit that would see participants from all Nyishis spread across seven districts viz Upper Subansiri, Lower Subansiri, Kurung Kumey, Kra Daddi, Papum Pare, East Kameng and in some parts of West Kameng of Arunachal Pradesh including Sonitpur and North Lakhimpur districts of Assam with their elected representatives, and intellectuals of both the communities would revive the age old social bonding between both the communities popularly known as Maniang/Manii (or) Ajing/Ajin (or) Gotu/Gyotu Ajing/Ajin.
