Christmas celebrated in Tangla

Christmas - the festival of peace and joy was celebrated with great enthusiasm in  Tangla along with rest of the world. Midnight masses in the churches marked the birth of Jesus Christ on Christmas Eve. In the Don Bosco Catholic church midnight prayers were led by Fr. Xebier Tete,Fr. Sebastian and Fr. Arvind Kailash.

Special Christmas prayers were held in the churches today morning followed by musical programmes. The morbing prayers were led by Fr.Xavier Tete,Fr.Cornelius Panna and Fr.Threnius Sangma. A large number of people of Christian community took part in thr morning prayers in the cathedrals of Tangla .Not just the Christian faithful, but people belonging to many other faiths joined in the Christmas celebrations in the State. Whereas believers of Christianity attended the Christmas prayers early in the morning, the Don Bosco catholic church premises witnessed  visitors throughout the day. The town as a whole was gripped in the Yuletide spirit with colourful decorations and Christmas carols.Don Bosco Church was the main centre of Christmas celebration for the Catholic people. A sizeable number of people attended the special morning prayers. People lighted candles and incense sticks in the Church premises and offered their prayers.Visitors of different faiths kept admiring the colourful decorations and lighting of the church premises.
