Modi's effigy burnt

Members from Sadou Assam Goria Maria Deshi Jatiya Parsishad protested the decision of the union government to accord citizenship right to Hindu migrants from Bangladesh and burnt effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Baruapara in Kokrajhar district on Thursday. 

The parishad strongly objected and demanded early stop of decision to grant entry and stay right to Hindu migrants in Assam from Bangladesh.

The illegal migrants of Bangladesh irrespective of religion should be sent back to their country. There is no place for Hindu Bangladeshi or Muslim Bangladeshi in Assam.

Security forces on Saturday claimed to have killed a hardcore NDFB-S militant who was involved in the December 23 Adivasi massacre in Kokrajhar.According to Kokrajhar SP Sunil Kumar, identified as Jeblang alias Jagat Basumatary, he was the platoon commander of the anti-talk faction of the outfit. He was killed during a combing operation by police and SSB at a remote area near Serfanguri around 2 in the afternoon. Kokrajhar SP Sunil Kumar told Assam Times that  acting on a tip off police and SSB launched a  operation in the entire area at noon.  Security forces are believed to have got the vital lead on the recent Adivasi massacre after they captured seven dreaded NDFB(S) rebels in Kokrajhar on Friday.Interrogation is going on to extract more confession on the gory attack where at least 75 Adivasi innocent people lost their lives in Kokrajhar and Sonitpur on December 23.They were caught during an operation by Army troops of 21 Division under 4 Corps and Kokrajhar Police in Ripu forest of Kokrajhar.According to sources, the arrested rebels include Mathinga and another trained NDFB (S) terrorist. They were part of the action team involved in the carnage.  
NIA Director General Sharad Kumar landed at Bismuri ground in a helicopter to take stock of the carnage of Adivasi area at Lungsung and Ultapani under Bismuri police out post in Kokrajhar district. on Thursday.Kumar was accompanied by IGP(NIA) GP Singh reached at Bismuri at 11 AM and visited the Lungsung and Ultapani and took stock about carnage by NDFB(S) where NIA team have been investigating into carnage since last few days.Kumar also met affected families and shared grief of victimised.The NIA are taking up two cases in connection with the December 23 carnage  in Kokrajhar(case number 557/2014 and 558/2014).
A total 15 members of NDFB-R (Ranjan Daimary), including the commander of the outfit’s eastern command Renjen Goyary alias G. Rafwd and spokesperson Martin Narzary alias N Mwnthai officially joined the NDFB-P (Progressive) at the NDFB-P designated camp at Serfanguri in Kokrajhar on Thursday.They were accorded warm welcome with traditional aronai at a home coming ceremony which was attended by the NDFB-P judicial secretary, B. The All Adivasi Students Association of Assam(AASAA) is unhappy with the ex-gratia and rehabilitation grants of the government for the family members of the recent carnage victims. The organization further demanded hike of Rs 20 lakh each to the deceased victim and Rs.5 lakh to the injured persons during carnage.Talking to Assam Times, AASAA leader Satyanath Tudu said that the association and affected peoples were not satisfied with the ex-gratia and rehabilitation grants of the government. BPF Supremo Hagrama Mohilary alleged that NDFB(P) and the All Bodo Students Union(ABSU) have been helping NDFB(S) escape the Operation all out’ in Kokrajhar and Sonitpur.Addressing reporters on Sunday, the BPF boss condemned the recent carnage and urged the ABSU and NDFB(P) to stop helping hand to NDFB(S) and cooperate the government while conducting operation so that militancy activity can be root out.He said that the government should take steps to ensure security and sufficient facility for meeting problems of inmates at relief camps. The All Bodo Artistes’ Association(ABAA) has rescheduled its 7th annual conference on February 7 and 8 next instead of January 10 and 11 citing the recent carnage in the district.
