Guwahat: AAP has alleged a nefarious attempt by BJP in Guwahati to upset it's prospect for the upcoming GMC polls.  Talking to Assam Times, a senior leader of the party said that BJP/s youth wing has damaged a hoarding in Guwahati on Monday.  He said that this was followed by the removal of a few other AAP banners and hoardings in the Capital city by the administration.  Later in a statement, the newly emerging party said that BJP's the largest ever political party on the planet was rattling at the stepped up electioneering by a very small party which is in power only in two states.  AAP is contesting 40 wards out of 60 in the GMC polls slated for April 22.
Guwahati: The recent landslide victory in Punjab seems to be a morale booster for the Aam Admi Party in Guwahati in the run up to the Guwahati Municipal Corporation election slated for April 22. Hundreds of people in the nook and corner of the capital city have been joining the party on every passing day. Party  banners and posters are flooding the city streets apart from meetings at ward level. "Yes. I joined the party after I had noticed the schemes of things in Delhi and Punjab," said Antara Das from the Ulubari area.  "We opposed Congress and voted BJP to power.  But to no avail. What are the options,? Here's the AAP.  It's the need of the hour," said Nirmal...

The agreement was formally signed by Assam Chief Minister Himanta  Biswa Sarma and his Meghalaya counterpart Conrad Sangma after a meeting that evening. Speaking to reporters waiting outside, the Chief Ministers claimed to have settled a decade-long issue in 6 areas and hoped for the same solution in 6 other remaining areas.  But both sides refused to divulge the details of the agreement, which is likely to trigger protests and anger among people living along the disputed border areas....
Guwahati: Congress leadership in the state is holding a series of brainstorming meetings in Guwahati to ensure smooth passage of opposition consensus candidate Ripun Bora in the Rajya Sabha polls slated for Wednesday. AICC leader Jitendra Singh is monitoring the entire process amid a growing internal rift in the party where a few party legislators are unlikely to help Bora. Raha MLA Sashikanta Das participated in BJP’s programme on the Rajya Sabha meeting in the capital city on Sunday, a few days after Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma visited him. However, a growing difference with AIUDF is making it difficult for Ripun Bora to win the polls after AIUDF openly castigated Samoguri...
