VDP Bhawan inaugurated

BTAD Inspector General of Police(IGP),Dr L R Bishnoi inaugurated the newly constructed VDP Bhawan at Kokrajhar Sadar police station complex in the presence of high police officers on Tuesday.  It was constructed from police welfare fund for the welfare of VDP men in the district.

Durga Mandir foundation stone laid

Foundation stone for re-construction of Durga Mandir at Kokrajhar Main Bazar Durgabari was laid by formet Minister and Kokrajhar east MLA Pramila Rani Brahma on Friday. The Main Bazar Durga Mandir has been regarded one of the oldest Durga Puja mandhav with record of 145-years-old in Lower Assam districts,was established in 1870 and organised 145th Durga Puja recently. Senior Congress leader Ashok Borgoyary took assume of office as President for Kokrajhar Congress Committee (DCC) today at Ranendra Narayan Basumatary Bhawan in Kokrajhar. Dharna for wage increase

Hundreds of AASAA activists and tea estate labours gathered at a dharna programme here at Magurmari ground today in Kokrajhar demanding wages hike from Rs 94 to 330 on daily basis, sufficient facilities to the tea estate labours.  The dharna programme was organized by the AASAA central committee. Chhat Puja in Kokrajhar

Devotees from various parts of the Kokrajhar thronged the Gaurang River Ghat to offer prayer and puja archana on the occasion of Chhat Puja festival today in Kokrajhar.  People sand devotees of Surjyanarayan from all walks of life come out with prayer materials to the Gaurang River bank and offered their worship and flowers on a traditional phenomenon.  The Chhat Puja was organized by Kokrajhar Surjya Shasti Pujasaha Kalyan Sangha.  Former minister and Kokrajhar east MLA Pramila Rani Brahma attended the programme.

New committee of Dotma primary BSS formed
