One shot dead

Rajib Ramchiary,25, was shot dead by unidentified miscreants this morning around 9 am at Alagjhar under Barama police station in Baksa district.

He received bullet injury on his head and died on the spot while armed gunmen shot him from close range.Police rushed the spot and investigated into incident, said a senior police officer in Baksa.

The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council(AHSEC) has started its inquiry into ‘Physics’ Question Paper leakage at Grahampur HS school involving two senior officers of the council in Kokrajhar. Police in its operational initiative able to apprehend three link men of the National Democratic Front of Boroland(Songbijit faction) militant outfit from Harjhora area under Bagribari PS in Kokrajhar district today. 13 fishermen arrested

As many as 13 fishermen were arrested by Bhutan Royal Army on Tuesday inside deep jungle of Sarpang district of Bhutan while going illegally into the neighboring country. According to a senior police officer in Kokrajhar, thirteen persons from Kachugaon area of Gossaigaon subdivision illegally entered seven kilometers into Bhutan territory to fishing inside deep jungle where they were caught by Bhutan Royal Army on Tuesday and then handed over them to Kokrajhar police.
