Kokrajhar boy gets 3rd position

Anarjithom Roy of Kokrajhar BPCM Babyland School has secured third spot sharing with other two students in the HSLC examination, result declared today scoring 579 marks out of 600(97%) and brought a happy educational scenario in the heart town of BTAD. The student and guardians of the school celebrated joyous at the school and wished for happy successful.

Roy, son of Baskarjyoti Roy, a resident of Santinagar Bank Colony in Kokrajhar town brings the limelight result for school in Kokrajhar district scoring all letter marks in all subjects.

Rina Majumdar, Principal of the school has congratulated to Roy and wished for his bright successful.

The four districts of BTAD including Kokrajhar have made 51.87%, Chirang 29.79%; Baksa 59.24% and Udalguri 44.76% passed percentages respectively in the final examinations.

 Two students scored 93 out of 100 marks in Bodo(MIL)-Klinton Boro(Baksa) and Arup Swargiary(Chirang).

Derhasat Basumatary, BTC executive member for Education department congratulated to all passed out students in the BTAD region and wished for good educational situation in the region in coming days.

Rabisangkhar Borgoyary, BTC education director told that there are 21,402 students passed out the examination out of 43,998 appeared students, including 2,414 in first division, 7,192 in second and 11,716 in third divisions in the final examination from four districts.

The Private managed schools in Kokrajhar and Chirang district made bright results then government schools, including the UN Academy, Kokrajhar 98.14%, the BPCM Babyland school 97.29% and the Gyanpuri Rupamani Bathow School has scored 80% respectively.

The rape incident runs into a hail of protest across Kokrajhar district on Tuesday. The All Bodo Women Welfare Federation staged two-hour sit in demonstration in protest against gang raped of a 19 - years - old woman in Kochugaon allegedly by two army jawans in the wee hours. Hundreds of women activist and local residents joined the demonstration with banner, placard and festoons in front of DC office demanding early arrest of the culprits. ABWWF president Mithinga Basumatary condemned the gang raped by army jawans and demanded stern action  against the rapists.

Yet another rape case in BTAD sends shock and anger across the state. The victim is a 19-year-old pregnant lady who was repeatedly raped by two army jawans on Tuesday.The shocking incident took place at Kochugaon area in Gossaigaon sub division where two jawans of 10th Bihar regiment at Taisouguri Gwjwnpara village raped the woman after taking away into a nearby school.According to the victim, a team of army jawans along with a policeman came to their home around 10 pm looking for her husband and carried out a search operation in the rooms but returned soon after carrying out the raid. She said that around 1. 30 in the wee hours, the two accused jawans returned and asked her to...
 Speakers at a seminar in New Delhi on Tuesday stressed the pressing need for creation of smaller states in the country. Jointly organized by ABSU, BGP, JACAS, KSDC, IPFT and PJACBM, the speakers in the seminar are expected to dwelt at length the development strategy in the small states.  ABSU president Promod Boro, told reporters that the seminar would  highlight the ways and means to press the centre to take step on creation of smaller state.

A hardcore Muslim Tiger Force of Assam (MTFA) militant  was apprehended  from Fakiragram area in Kokrajhar district today during a joint search operation by the army and police.Sources said based on inputs, a mobile check post was established by the army and police from where the Muslim militant was arretsed.
