Tarun Gogoi dead

Guwahati: Veteran Congress leader and former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi is dead. He passed away in the evening at Guwahati Medical College Hospital where he was undergoing treatment of post COVID complications.

His condition deteriorated on Saturday as his organs did not properly respond to the line of treatment.

Jail for accused ACS officer

GUWAHATI:Nishamoni Deka, an accused ACS officer in the APSC scan has been sent to judicial custody on Tuesday after the end of police custody for the ACS officer involved in the APSC dcsm. After the end of her 14 days remand police did not seek her in their remand again. Heavy rush in Kokrajhar NRC offices

Kokrajhar: NRC centres in BTAD areas are teeming with people who are waiting in the serpentine queue to check their names in the updated NRC draft published on Sunday night. In Kokrajhar nearly 65% applicants have found their names in the draft. Other applicants are waiting for the next draft which is expected next month. Long queue in front of NRC centres

GUWAHATI: Altogether 2500 NRC centres are teeming with hundreds of people who are lined up to catch a glimpse of their names in the first updated NRC draft a day after the Registrar General of India in Guwahati. GUWAHATI: The All Assam Students Union leaders and activists are no less upbeat over the publication of the first NRC draft on Sunday midnight. The influential student organization is opening a centre in its headquarters' Swahid Nyash to help the citizens find out their names in the NRC draft.
