His death was deeply mourned by his well wishers.

A tribute to my Grandfather- I cried really hard but after that it dawned on me that he lived his life to the absolute full. I can't think of anything he would have liked to do and didn't do with his life. I love him with all my heart, you know. Now that he's passed away it makes me believe in souls and spirits, not just bodies. When u die, u don't die but live on forever. And he's the kind of person whose life you celebrate, instead of mourning, u know. He made me who I am today, he taught me everything I pass on to the people around me, he gave me whatever wisdom and foresight that I have and there is nobody on this Earth that I respect more than him. I'm proud of my grandfather, what he stood for and the fact that he knew and did what was right, never compromised, you had to follow the right track with him. Rest in Peace, Papa. Your spirit will live in your children forever. Thank you Assam Times
