Auto bandh in Haflong

Auto Association of Haflong announces Chakka Bandh on Wednesday in protest against the new Officer-in-Charge of Haflong Police Station, Amjad Ali Khan, for levying heavy and unnecessary fines on Auto Drivers on various pretexts.

The Chakka Bandh has greatly affected general public of Haflong town, as Auto Rickshaw is the only cheap means of transport available to the people in this hilly capital town of Dima Hasao District.

Commuters of the town have expressed anger at police for overcharging the auto drivers and causing inconvenience to everyone. Auto drivers have said that they will continue their protest until the authority take necessary steps to curb corruption in police department.
