Dima Hasao Election: protest against 'election process' at Langting

Hundreds of people protested at Langting in Dima Hasao on Saturday, terming the recent election process at Borolalbong polling station as " unfair and illegal". Six(6) more ballot papers were found in the ballot box, they claimed. According to them, the box was actually sealed with 924 ballot papers instead of 930. In the protest he general public today stopped two passenger trains- "Hill Queen" and "Agartala" at Langting railway station. The indefinite bandh was called soon after the election result for Langting constituency was declared on May 24 by the returning officer, Barun Bhuyan. However, there is every possibility of polling officers committing error while taking account of the actual ballot papers used for casting votes.
