World Environment Day in Haflong

Enthusiastic students of Dibarai High School planted saplings to celebrate World Environment Day on Thursday. 
 
Blue Hills Society(NGO)  in collaboration with Dibarai High School organised a programme to mark the occasion of World Environment Day. The programme was coordinated by the NGO President, Dr.Amit Phonglo; Vice Presidnet, Mandao Johori and General Secretary, Joshirngdao Phonglo.
 
The programme involved a plantation drive in which a great variety of trees were planted in the school premises by the students, teachers as well as NGO members. Ms. Ambalika Difoesa, on behalf of the teaching staff, planted a special sapling. The principal of the school, Krishna Chetri, also participated in the plantation drive. 
 
The event started with planting of saplings in the morning at 10 am at the hands of Shri Kalijoy Sengyung, Chairman, Haflong Town Committee; Shri Amit Kemprai, Headman, Dibarai village and several other invited guests. 
 
Later, the students planted Saplings around their School's Playground, and vowed to take care of the young trees by watering them regularly. 
 
The commemoration of 'World Environment Day' at Dibarai High School concluded with a vote of thanks from Dr. Amit Phonglo, president of Blue Hills Society.
