Thousands of people took to the street on Wednesday, July 10, to celebrate Lord Jagganath Rath Yatra in Haflong. The festival of Lord Jagganath was organised by Jagganath Bari Mandhir in collaboration with ISCKON, Radha Gobinda Mandhir of PWD colony and Gaorimooth Mandhir of Nutun Basti.
The Rathayatra commenced from the Jagganath temple located in the heart of the town in the afternoon around 2 pm. Three RATHs(Chariots) were pulled by hundreds of devotees, chanting "Harey Krishna, Harey Krishna, Harey Krishna, Harey Harey".
This year's Rathayatra procession drew the largest number of crowd in the town. A large number of women devotees also participated along with kids to pull the pious chariots.
