Very happy to know that the association is continuing to do well and growing. I had the privilege of being the President of the association around 1981-82 when I was a Professor of IIT-Madras ( now Chennai). During Assam Movement, we published the Brahmaputra Beckons. GUWAHATI: The Gauhati High Court will hear Rakesh Paul’s bail plea on Friday since the government has yet to submit the affidavit for hearing on Wednesday. A division bench of the court which took up the bail plea of the arrested APSC chairman asked the authority to ensure the submission by Thursday. GUWAHATI: Hours after Piuysh Hazarika lodged a complaint against him, Tarun Gogoi welcomed the BJP MLA saying that the Raha MLA has virtually proved that Himanta Biswa Sarma was involved in corruption. GUWAHATI: A BJP legislator takes on Tarun Gogoi on Tuesday charging the former chief minister with protecting Himanta Biswa Sarma who was allegedly involved in a number of scams. He is none other than Piyush Hazarika, the Jagiroad MLA who moved the police with a complaint against Gogoi alleging that he protected Himanta Biswa Sarma even after he came to know that his senior cabinet colleague was involved in the multi crore scam.
