A construction worker was killed at an incident of firing by miscreants in Mongoldoi on Monday. The shocking incident took place in Holouchuka 8 in the evening when unidentified miscreants started indiscriminate firing at a bridge construction project where the worker was killed on the spot. Then the miscreants fled away from the spot. Identified as Saifuddin Ahmed, the deceased hailed from Morigaon district.Senior police and civil officials arrived in the spot. Two former ULFA militants are contesting in the first phase of Lok Sabha polls slated for April 7.The Opposition Asom Gana Parishad has fielded Horiprasad Dihingia in Lakhimpur.
