Sadhana Das passes away

Sadhana Das (69 years), wife of a benevolent social worker of Jorhat Jiten Das has left her mortal body on 21st June, 2007 at Dispur Hospital, Guwahati. She has left behind her husband, her only son Mr. Jyotimoi Das and her two daughters along with many other relatives.

Amid stepped up operation to flush out militants in the run up to the Independence Day, security forces caught a hardcore NDFB-S militant In Chirang district on Saturday.Identified as Mohendra Chumpramary, the dreaded militant was arrested from Bengtol area in Chirang district during a search operation. A joint team of security forces belonging to army and police arrested him and seized a 7.65 pistol, magazine and ammunitions from his possession.
