No Don Bosco please

People thronged in Bharalumukh area in Guwahati on Thursday in protest against the move to set up a statue of Don Bosco on Friday.

Protestors told Assam Times that the statue, if allowed to be set up in Bharalumukh would lower the status of the Assamese real heroes who have made immense contribution to Assam and its people.

Chief minister Tarun Gogoi is scheduled to lay the foundation stone on Friday.

Notably, the venue was shifted from Dighali pukhuri following the protest of the Cottonians.
