Friends looking for writers

To succeed in this competitive global environment, every student needs to have high motivation, ambition and perseverance to face the various challenges that they face. To do so, they require lot of positive attitude and inspiration from peers. Parents in this age are looking for resources, books and journals that would inspire their children to have ambition and a global outlook to excel in their chosen field of study.


The magazine Friends is a sincere effort by the Non residents of Assam towards the upliftment of the Students and youths of the North East India. It contains articles on career guidance, education, travel and tourism, volunteering and Social entrepreneurism. Chief Editor Mr. Ankur Bora from Dallas, Texas, USA sincerely desires that students and the youth of the North East India will benefit from this journal as the motto of this journal is –To inform, to inspire and to instill. It is also expected that the parents will gift this magazine to their children as a valuable resource for career development and for their future personal and professional growth.

Guwahati: The mortal remains of Tarun Gogoi consigned to the flames on Thursday three days after the former Chief Minister died of post COV19 complications at the Guwahati Medical College Hospital. Gogoi’s son and Lok Sabha MP from Kaliabor Gaurav Gogoi lit the pyre according to the Vedic rituals at the Savagraha Public Crematorium at 1 in the afternoon. Guwahati: BJP president JP Nadda has deferred his two days visit to Guwahati ion Thursday and Friday in view of the demise of former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi . According to state party leaders, Nadda will let the state BJP leadership know his rescheduled date very soon. Accompanied by central party observer Baijayant Jai Panda, JP Nadda was scheduled to arrive in Guwahati on Thursday to hold at least 14 party meeting ahead of 2021 assembly polls. But Gogoi’s sudden demise has disrupted the scheduled. The party also suspended all activities and announced three state mourning. 
Guwahati: Top Congress leader Rahul Gandhi called Tarun Gogoi a political mentor as he paid his last respect to the former Chief Minister who passed away on Monday. Taking to media, Gandhi heaped praised on Gogoi saying that Gogoi could inject new hopes and aspirations for Assam and it's people who was least bothered about his personal life. "Gogoi's demise was a great loss for Indian politics, " said Gandhi.  Immediately after arriving on Guwahati, Gandhi along with Jitendra Singh and KC Venugopal visited the Gogoi at the official residence and condolences his death.   The he left for Shankardev Kalakhetra and paid his last respect.
Guwahati: Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi paid his tribute to Tarun Gogoi on Wednesday two days after the former Chief Minister breathed his last at the Guwahati Medical College Hospital. Gandhi, who arrived in the capital city from Goa at 9 in the morning straightly left for Gogoi's official residence in Dispur where he condoled the demise of the senior Congress leader. Accompanied by KC Venugopal and Jitendra Singh, Gandhi rushed to the Shankardev Kalakhetra where paid his last respect to Gogoi.  His mortal remains would be kept at the Shankardev Kalakhetra for Wednesday and would be cremated at Navagraga cremation ground on Thursday.

Guwahati: Veteran Congress leader and former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi is dead. He passed away in the evening at Guwahati Medical College Hospital where he was undergoing treatment of post COVID complications. His condition deteriorated on Saturday as his organs did not properly respond to the line of treatment.
