Daylight theft at Boko

Thieves, who perhaps knew the movements of the members of a family residing at Charaibaha village under Boko police station in Kamrup District, succeeded in stealing cash of Rs. 1 lakh 35 thousand and gold and silver ornament on Tuesday, July 12 at around 10.30 a.m. Mauria Kachari, an employee of forest department of the village, alongwith other members of the family were away at the time, participating in a religious programme organized by themselves at a nearby Shiv Mandir. This made the task of the thieves easier. The theft occurred between 10.30 am, the time when the members of the family left for the mandir, and 11.30 am, when they returned.

The thieves took away the cash and the ornaments after breaking the main door of the house. Meanwhile, Mauria Kachari lodged an FIR in this regard at Boko police station.
