First phase election training held for 65 Kalaigaon LAC

The District Election Office,Darrang organised the first phase training session for the designated presiding officers and first polling officers of 65 Kalaigaon LAC at Kalaigaon HS School on March 23. Altogather 52 numbers of presiding and 465 numbers of first polling officers have been given poll training and guidance for the conduct of the ensuing assembly election to be held on April 11.The election training were conducted by 20 numbers of Master Training Officers.Dina Mani Das, magistrate incharge of Kalaigaon constituency supervised the entire training session which was also attended by PK Bhagawati,ADC,Darrang cum training incharge of the district.


It needs to be mentioned that there are 167 polling stations in Kalaigaon LAC out of which 18 polling stations have been identified as sensitive and 4 as most sensitive polling station.It is further known that the defacement of wall writting has also been going on by a special defacement squad.The Postal Ballot Paper Cell of the EC has also organised a guidane counter during the election training.Manjita Baruah District Employment Officer,Darrang cum supervisor of the Postal Ballot Paper wing told media persons that ballot papers would be would be given to designated presiding and polling officers of 65 Kalaigaon LAC on or after March 28 only after the submission of Form 12.The presiding and polling officers will be able to cast their votes with the help of the ballot papers during the training session ,prior to the assembly election.The training session will be continued till April 4.She also requested designated election officials to collect voter;s serial numbers etc from the respective Circle office or panchayats or from gaonburahs concerned.

Protesting against sharp price rise of essential commodities in the country,more than five hundred people mostly woman staged dharna in front of Kalaigaon Revenue Circle Office today on September 2 at 11 am on the day of Bharat Bandh.The protesters blocked the main gate of Kalaigaon Revenue Circle Office preventing government officials and employees including Additional Deputy Commissioner Udalguri.
