Dima Haso scam likely to rock Parliament

CPIM general secretary Prakash Karat says that his party would raise the multi crore scam in NC Hills of Assam in parliament. Addressing a press conference in Guwahati on Monday, Karat said siphonning off money meant for poor people is a grave and an unpardonable crime and that the guilty persons deserve punishment. Karat along with top party leaders held a brainstorming meet to formulate strategy for the upcoming assembly polls in Assam.

There is no positive outcome in the district after scam issue and all the political leaders are busy in making an image for the upcoming election with the in the name of scam issue. The district name should be totally named as DIMA HASAO in every article as suggested...as it is officially accepted in the gazzated offices in the state.

One miscreant killed another injured during an encounter with security forces in Sonitpur district on Thursday. The encounter took place at Gopal Tiniali where one of the two injured miscreants died on the way to the nearest hospital in the morning. The duo are believed to have hailed from the neighbouring Arunachal Pradesh. Two 9 MM pistols have been seized from their possession.

Once again violence rears its ugly head in Dima Hasao district. Two blasts have rocked the Haflong town after governor inaugurated colourful festival at Jatinga on Wednesday. The first blast took place at around 12:30 on a railway tracks where 3 boggies of the barak valley express derailed on the way to Silchar from Lumding. The second one blast took near Haflong town in the evening. There is no report of any casualty.

One person died, several others have been injured when a severe storm lashes parts of Dibrugarh district on Sunday. The storm lashed the upper Assam district on Sunday night and it took a grim turn in Lahowal area where one Prasanna Das, a resident of Charaihaabi village died after his house collpased. An expert committee set up to study the big dams in Arunachal Pradesh prescribed construction of a small dam instead of the 2000 MW hydel dam at Lower Subansiri in Arunachal Pradesh. This was what the panel members said as they were interacting with local people at Gogamukh after visiting the Lower Subansiri dam project at Gerukamukh.
