CPIM general secretary Prakash Karat says that his party would raise the multi crore scam in NC Hills of Assam in parliament. Addressing a press conference in Guwahati on Monday, Karat said siphonning off money meant for poor people is a grave and an unpardonable crime and that the guilty persons deserve punishment. Karat along with top party leaders held a brainstorming meet to formulate strategy for the upcoming assembly polls in Assam.

There is no positive outcome in the district after scam issue and all the political leaders are busy in making an image for the upcoming election with the in the name of scam issue.
The district name should be totally named as DIMA HASAO in every article as suggested...as it is officially accepted in the gazzated offices in the state.

ULFA Chairman Arabinda Rajkhowa has moved a local TADA court in Guwahati seeking bail in connection with six cases pending against him. It will not be so difficult for Rajkhowa to procure bail in view of Dispur's decision not to oppose the bail petitions of these top ULFA leaders. The process to hold talks between ULFA and the government seems to have reached a crucial point when the outfit's top leader Bhimakanta Buragohain was released on bail on Sunday. Folk singer Rameswar Pathak passed away at a private nursing home in Guwahati on Friday. Congress high command has given AICC General Secretary Digvijay Singh the party affairs in Assam in place of Union Minister M Veerappa Moily.
