Dima Haso scam likely to rock Parliament

CPIM general secretary Prakash Karat says that his party would raise the multi crore scam in NC Hills of Assam in parliament. Addressing a press conference in Guwahati on Monday, Karat said siphonning off money meant for poor people is a grave and an unpardonable crime and that the guilty persons deserve punishment. Karat along with top party leaders held a brainstorming meet to formulate strategy for the upcoming assembly polls in Assam.

There is no positive outcome in the district after scam issue and all the political leaders are busy in making an image for the upcoming election with the in the name of scam issue. The district name should be totally named as DIMA HASAO in every article as suggested...as it is officially accepted in the gazzated offices in the state.

Good news for Assam. Come March 2011. Dipak Jain will take over as the Dean of leading international business school INSEAD. The Dean Emeritus at Northwestern University's prestigious Kellogg School of Management, would look for opportunities to build INSEAD programmes in China and India as the business school focuses on growing its global presence and attracting more students from the developing countries. Former Congress MP Mani Kumar Subba's newphew Ajoyraj Subba is back to home after 14 days after suspected ULFA militants kidnapped him at gunpoint from Bordubi. Subba owns a small tea estate arrived in his Tinsukia based residene on Monday midnight. He is understood to have released from Tirap area in Arunachal Pradesh. But Subba is not aware of what took place as after he was kidnapped by a few youths at gunpoint from Bordubi Chariali a few days back. He was freed 12 hour after the Gorkha Students Union enforced upper Assam bandh demanding his immediate relase. Initially, it was suspected to be a handiwork of ULFA. But the banned insurgent outfit is yet to clear its position.
A 12 hour district wide bandh disrupted Golaghat the entire district on Saturday. The bandh which began at 6 in the morning was total and full. Barring a few stray incidents, the bandh was by and large peaceful. Four persons have been injured when a section of local business businessmen clashed with police personnel at Merapani in the morning. The bandh was called by Asomia Yuva Manch in protest against the recent lathicharge on protesting students by Nagaland police. An apex Naga students body has also expressed grave concern over the action of Nagaland police personnel on demonstrators of All Assam Students Union in Golaghat district of the neighbouring state. Condemning the police lathicharge Naga Students Federation has asserted that such attitude towards the peaceful demonstrators was totally an act of disrespect. Assam MP from Mongoldoi Ramen Deka demands a medical college in Rongiya. Making and end to all prevaiing controversy and confusion, the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee has left it over to Congress president Sonia Gandhi. A 4-years old boy, son Anirudha Saikia and Padma Saikia of Geleky, Methonchuwa of Sivasagar was kiddnapped by one Diganta Sasoni of the same village on Wednesday.
