Dima Haso scam likely to rock Parliament

CPIM general secretary Prakash Karat says that his party would raise the multi crore scam in NC Hills of Assam in parliament. Addressing a press conference in Guwahati on Monday, Karat said siphonning off money meant for poor people is a grave and an unpardonable crime and that the guilty persons deserve punishment. Karat along with top party leaders held a brainstorming meet to formulate strategy for the upcoming assembly polls in Assam.

There is no positive outcome in the district after scam issue and all the political leaders are busy in making an image for the upcoming election with the in the name of scam issue. The district name should be totally named as DIMA HASAO in every article as suggested...as it is officially accepted in the gazzated offices in the state.

Meghalaya police have recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition from ULFA from a school on Saturday. Accoridng to information, these arms and ammuniton were found inside an abandoned suitcase spotted by a group of students near Shillong Higher Secondary School in the evening. Two hardcore NDFB insurgents have been nabbed along with two others in Nagaon district on Friday. The ultras belonging to the anti-talks faction of the National Democratic Front of Bodoland were involved in the serial blasts which left over 90 dead and 500 injured in Kokrajhar, Barpeta and Bongaigaon districts, besides Guwahati. They were travelling in a bus from Nagaland and apprehended at Samaguri during a check near the police station there. Despite round-the-clock vigil, poachers killed a male rhino inside the Kaziranga National Park on Thursday. According to information, the poachers killed the rhino at Burachapori inside the Agratoli range of the park and forest guards on hearing gunshots rushed to the area and opened fire injuring one of the gang. The injured poacher and another, however, managed to escape. Sources say the forest guards seized two SBBL guns, several sharp weapons and camping equipment.
At least 20 people died within this week as the killer cholera is spreading in Sonitpur district. A section of people in Biswanath Chariali sub division is also undergoing treatment in the hospital after they complained stomach problem and vomiting focing the authorities to step in. The affected people, moslty, hail from tea garden areas of unhygienic condition. These include Chakukhata, Sajuligarh, Komarjan, Munda line.
