CPIM general secretary Prakash Karat says that his party would raise the multi crore scam in NC Hills of Assam in parliament. Addressing a press conference in Guwahati on Monday, Karat said siphonning off money meant for poor people is a grave and an unpardonable crime and that the guilty persons deserve punishment. Karat along with top party leaders held a brainstorming meet to formulate strategy for the upcoming assembly polls in Assam.

There is no positive outcome in the district after scam issue and all the political leaders are busy in making an image for the upcoming election with the in the name of scam issue.
The district name should be totally named as DIMA HASAO in every article as suggested...as it is officially accepted in the gazzated offices in the state.

The proposed ULFA-government talks gets a major boost when a TADA court in Guwahati has granted bail to the outfit's chairman Arabinda Rajkhowa on Wednesday. It's an end of the wait. A local TADA court in Guwahati has granted bail to ULFA chairman Arabinda Rajkhowa on Wednesday. Rajkhowa is likley to be released from Guwahati Central Jail on Thursday where he has been languishing for the last one year. The court, however, has passed a slew of strictures for the ULFA chief to be followed. The court has asked Rajkhowa not to leave the country without prior permission.
