100 hours NC Hills bandh

In demand for the bifurcation of NC Hills into two Autonomous districts under 3 (C) of Articles 244 (2) & 275 (1) of the Sixth Schedule to the Constitution of India, the North Cachar Hills Indigenous Students Forum (NCHISF) has given a 100 hours N. C. Hills Bandh from 4 AM of July 12.

The bringing of the bandh will not solve the problems of people like you and me. why do the people dont get in their mind of living in peace n harmony? The creation and division mind of the political leaders and the outfits will not do good for the common. you and i live in the land not only on individual. i pray for those who is still yet to understand the anger cloudy environment in the peace land of N.C.Hills.

Explosion on Rly track near Haflong

There was an explosion on railway track near Tunnel no 11 at Mahur last night caused minor damage to the railway line. It is learnt that a bomb was planted on the railway track and exploded at about 10.30 PM yesterday. Chief Minister's Gyanjyoti programme flagged off

The Deputy Commissioner Dima Hasao District Shri Dilip Borthakur, I.A.S. and ADC. Shri Khanindra Chowdhury, ACS ceremonially flagged off the Chief Minister Gyanjyoti Programme/2011 at Circuit House Haflong at 7 A.M on 19TH October, 2011. Altogether 48 (forty eight) students from various parts of the district participated in the programme. Out of which 28 are boys and 20 are girls. The team is led by Shri R.K. Laskar, ACS, Election Officer, Dima Hasao Haflong, two Teachers, including Medical Team accompanied by Police Officer along with Constables.
