100 hours NC Hills bandh

In demand for the bifurcation of NC Hills into two Autonomous districts under 3 (C) of Articles 244 (2) & 275 (1) of the Sixth Schedule to the Constitution of India, the North Cachar Hills Indigenous Students Forum (NCHISF) has given a 100 hours N. C. Hills Bandh from 4 AM of July 12.

The bringing of the bandh will not solve the problems of people like you and me. why do the people dont get in their mind of living in peace n harmony? The creation and division mind of the political leaders and the outfits will not do good for the common. you and i live in the land not only on individual. i pray for those who is still yet to understand the anger cloudy environment in the peace land of N.C.Hills.

Dima Hasao People flay Govt for non-posting of Govt Officials

The conscious citizen of Dima Hasao while criticizing the Government for its utter failure to fill up more than 240 posts of Government officials in 24 departments in the district, appealed not to consider the district of Dima Hasao as the place of punishment posting or a dumping ground of inefficient officials. Haflong Govt College celebrates Golden Jubilee

The Haflong Government, the only multifaceted higher educational Institute of Dima Hasao is celebrating fifty years of glorious existence as the Golden Jubilee Celebration from September 1 with six –day-long programme. On September 3 at 8.30 AM a colorful and spectacular Golden Jubilee Procession is taken out from Haflong Govt. College premises that marched through the major parts of Haflong Town converged at Golden Jubilee Celebration pandal. Students of various ethnic groups living in the district participate with tableau depicting their respective culture, tradition and lifestyle.

The 7th CEM’s Cup Football Invitation Football Tournament, organized by the Dima Hasao Sports Association starts from 25.8.11 The tournament is inaugurated by Sri Hamjanan Langthasa, Executive Member, Dima Hasao Autonomous Council on behalf of the Chief Executive Member in presence of Mayanan Kemprai, EM. Candlelight procession at Haflong

In support of Anna Hajare, the senior citizens of Greater Haflong took out a candle light procession throughout the Haflong Township on Wednesday (24.8.11) wherein thousands of people from every walk of life take part. The procession started from Cultural Institute Hall marched through the major parts of Haflong township converged at the Town Committee field ( Lal field).
