100 hours NC Hills bandh

In demand for the bifurcation of NC Hills into two Autonomous districts under 3 (C) of Articles 244 (2) & 275 (1) of the Sixth Schedule to the Constitution of India, the North Cachar Hills Indigenous Students Forum (NCHISF) has given a 100 hours N. C. Hills Bandh from 4 AM of July 12.

The bringing of the bandh will not solve the problems of people like you and me. why do the people dont get in their mind of living in peace n harmony? The creation and division mind of the political leaders and the outfits will not do good for the common. you and i live in the land not only on individual. i pray for those who is still yet to understand the anger cloudy environment in the peace land of N.C.Hills.

The Chief Executive Member, Dima Hasao Autonomous Council Sri Debojeet Thaosen inaugurated a 125 HP electric water pump at Songpijang pump house on Monday in presence of Sri Kulendra Daolagupu, MAC, DHAC others PHE Officials. It is learnt that the people of Haflong have been experiencing acute water crisis due to non-availability of water at the sources. The Dima Hasao Autonomous Council has been giving top priority to water supply and to solve the water problem the DHAC has taken mega project in its additive plan recently. Talking to the media CEM Thaosen disclosed that the DHAC is trying hard to supply water uninterrupted and in quick interval.
To provide relief materials and assistance to the villagers, Dilip Nunisa, Chairman, DHD along with DHD leaders visited Kolaidisa village of Dima Hasao on Sunday where 15 houses were burnt due to jungle fire on Thursday last. Mention may be made that the 15 houses including APBn camps in village Kolaidisa, some 70 km from Maibang located at the Assam – Nagaland border were burnt due to jungle fire in which the entire populace have lost their all the belongings.
