Dam Sau passes away

Dam Sau Bishwa Gogoi renown Ahom priest also former President; Eastern Tai Sahitya Sabha , Guwahati District Committee and a Social activist passed away this morning in his Hatigoan residence in Guwahati. Dam Sau was born at Azad Rangpuriya goan in Lakhimpur. His cremation took place at Nabagraha cremation ground on Tuesday amongst his well-wishers and family. Dam Sau Gogoi was popular amongst the Ahom community in Assam was related with research of Ahoms and Tai literature a furenal attendant said. Reasons of death is though cited health reasons but it can be predicted that it was due old age ailments.

Orphan kids inaugurate the 9th International Expo

The 9th International Expo which was scheduled to begin from 31st Oct. 2008 began today with a peaceful note. The inaugural program was rescheduled following bloody Thursday episode. The expo was declared open by some orphan kids of Snehalaya orphanage. Father Lucas, Director of Snehalaya accompanied this kids to the AEI Ground.
